Building Permits:
All citizens are required to obtain a building permit for any type of construction or remodel on their property. 

There is a fine of $1000.00 for not having a permit posted on the jobsite. 

No construction of a building or other structure shall be commenced without first obtaining a county building permit. Application for said permits shall be obtained from the Tax Assessor Office in Mount Vernon, Georgia. There will be a charge of twenty five ($25.00) dollars for all agricultural shelters, ten cents (.10) per square foot for all new and additions to residential structures, and fifteen cents (.15) per square foot for all new and additions to commercial structures.

Mobile Home Permits:
Anyone moving a mobile home into or out of the county must have a moving permit.  Charge is $3.00.  This permit must be affixed to the manufactured home at all times while the manufactured home is being transported within the confines of this county.  

There is a fine for moving a mobile home into this county without a permit.  

Mobile Homes 15 years or older are not allowed to be moved into the county.
