If a business is sold please report this to the Tax Assessors Office by letter along with a Bill of Sale.  If you own the business as of January 1 you will be taxed for that year.  We are here to maintain up to date records at Fair Market Values for the citizens of Montgomery County.

Property owners that desire to have their property or its value reviewed for ad valorem tax purposes must complete a property return form by March 1. Failure to file a return will prevent the Board of Tax Assessors' from granting a review. Information on filing a return can be obtained from the Board of Assessors' office or the Tax Commissioner's office.

Owners of tangible personal property (boats, airplanes, furniture, fixtures, inventory) who have previously returned property should have received a tax return form to make additions and deletions.
