County Maintenance Projects

County Road maintenance

County Repair, Replacement, Renovation and Maintenance Projects

From time to time the infrastructure of our county needs maintenance and expansion. As our county grows, goods and services must also be expanded. This includes county road maintenance, courthouse and county building maintenance. County equipment, office equipment, computers, machinery upkeep replacement and maintenance are also a part of daily county maintenance.

Storm cleanup and roadside debris removal is a part of the road department operations and fall under the category of county maintenance.

Grand money for roads has become scarce, but as grant funds do become available some dirt roads will get paved. These paving projects involve a combination of site preparation by county workers and paving by outside contractors.

County road site preparation usually includes right-of-way accusation, construction and installation of culverts and clearing the new right-of-way. In some cases, detours have to be built and maintained for the length of the project. Site preparations involved with the paving of a road are a county expense.

Since county infrastructure renovation projects are straight out-of-pocket county expenses, and must be covered by the county budget, we will give details of some of the larger county renovation projects.
