 HB1018 provides additional fees for cross indexing real estate and lien documents and for filing and recording multi document cancellations.

 CROSS INDEXING

Effective 07/01/08 there shall be a $2.00 fee for cross index.

•  Any instrument that is statutorily required to be cross indexed, canceled, satisfied, or released,

and

• Any other instrument upon request of the filing party.

 Instruments required to be cross indexed by statute include:

•  Corrective Instrumentation
  

• Cancellation or Release (including partials and quit claim deeds of release)
  

• Deed Under Power (disclosure deed) or Deed in Lieu of Foreclosure
  

• Assignment
  

• Affidavit (affecting title)
  

• Nulla Bona
  

• Notice of Suit Filed
  

• Tax Sale Deed for Title
  

• Re-Filed Deed or Lien in response to a change in county line
  

• Order Vacating Judgement
  

• Non Conforming Lien Removal
  

• Personal property Llien Extension Affidavits
  

• Settlement of Final Judgment (cross index to Lis Pendens)
  

• Notice of Content Lien
  

MULTI DOCUMENT CANCELLATIONS

Effective 07/01/08

For recording any investment that includes a request to cancel, satisfy, or release more than one real estate instrument, the fee shall be as follows:

$10.00 per instrument being cancelled, satisfied, or released

$2.00 per cross indexing of each instrument 

$2.00 for each additional page 

For recording any instrument that includes a request to cancel, satisfy, or release more than one lien instrument, the fee shall be as follows:

$5.00 per instrument being cancelled, satisfied, or released 

$2.00 per cross indexing of each instrument 

$2.00 for each additional page
